The Best Boys’ Hairstyles for Spring

by Cozy on February 14, 2014

It’s become something of a tradition for me to write a blog every season about what’s new in boys’ hairstyles. Granted there’s not as much to write about as there is for girls (I actually wrote an entire book about girls’ hairstyles!), but the fact is boys need haircuts much more often than do girls, and at my salons I field lots of questions from parents who want to know what’s the latest for boys hair.

Long hair has been the rule for the past few years, but we’re seeing a change this season, and many boys are transitioning to shorter styles. These are not the schoolboy or buzz cuts of years past. What’s hot is a cut that’s short on the sides and back and long on top. It’s a great look and more and more boys (and their parents) are asking for it.

But there are plenty of boys who don’t want to give up their long tresses and even the fashion designers are using models with both long and short hair on their runways on and their websites.

So long is in and short is in, too. Go with whatever your little guy is asking for and he’ll be right in style Check out this gallery of super cute boys and their fab hairstyles for Spring 2014.

How To Care For Longer Styles
Longer hair means fewer trips to the salon but this longer windswept look needs just a little more care than short cuts. Here’s how to do it: apply a dollop of styling product (a nickel-size to a quarter-size depending on the length of the hair). Spread the product evenly on your hands and then comb it into the hair with your fingers. Don’t brush or comb afterward…this is meant to be a natural look. I recommend So Cozy® Kooky Kiwi Styling Cream for the Tousled Look. It’s very light, has just the right amount of hold, and it adds texture without looking shiny or greasy. You can find it here.

How To Take Care of Shorter Styles
The real short styles are “wash & wear,” but if you are keeping hair longer on top, you can follow the same tips as above. The key is to always make it look natural and no fuss, it should never look perfect!

There’s no need to wait for warmer weather!
